Some beaches may be tidal (eg. only accessible at low tide) while others may consist of pebbles, rock or shingle.  Facilities vary greatly between beaches, from car parking, toilets, cafes, life guards and easy access to quiet beaches with no facilities and more difficult, perhaps steep, access.
