‘Honeydew’ is a spacious but cosy, all on one floor accommodation with features such as WiFi, central heating and a wood burner. Situated in Greatwork, on the outskirts of the villages Ashton and Godolphin Cross in the beautiful Cornish countryside. From the front door you can take advantage of an extensive network of footpaths and bridleways, there’s panoramic hilltops and shady woodlands, making it a great base for walkers.
There are two pubs within a 10 minute drive, The Lion & Lamb at Ashton and The Queen's Arms at Breage, both pubs offering an evening food menu. Porthleven Harbour is also a short drive away and offers a fine choice of food, beverages and beaches. Praa Sands is the nearest beach, just 10 minutes away by car, offering a mile of golden sand, lifeguards during the summer, car parking, toilets, café and beach shops.
For day trips you're spoilt for choice as you can easily visit St Michael's Mount, Penzance, Newlyn & Mousehole or Land's End. The Lizard Peninsula is a 30 minute drive and on the North coast St Ives and Carbis Bay are only around 25 minutes in the car.
From the parking area, a step up through the front door leads to accommodation which is all on one level. The living/dining room has a flat screen TV, three seat sofa, a two seat sofa and a comfy chair. The solid wood dining table has six chairs, a matching solid wood sideboard and looks out on the front garden area. To the side of the room there is a wood burning stove which guests are welcome to use.
The spacious kitchen is equipped with a fridge/freezer, electric oven and 4-ring hob with extractor over, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and a kettle and toaster. There is a table with four chairs if smaller parties prefer to dine in the kitchen.
The sun room looks out on the large rear garden, there are four seats and a door that opens to the lawn. An outdoor table and chairs are housed in the outbuilding.
At the other end of the property, bedroom one has a double bed, plenty of storage in the triple wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside table with lamp. Bedroom two also has a double bed and a wardrobe, dressing table and bedside table with lamp. Bedroom three has twin beds with a wardrobe and a bedside table with lamp between the beds.
The main bathroom is fully tiled and features a glass door (obscured) and has a bath, a separate shower cubicle with mixer shower, handbasin and a toilet. The second bathroom has a bath, handbasin and toilet.
Up the stairs to the first floor is an area for children to watch TV with a DVD player but please beware of the reduced head height.
Rental includes bedlinen, towels, electricity, WiFi and heating. Honeydew is accessed via a 50 metre (approx) unmade lane which may be unsuitable for cars with very low suspension. There is a parking area for two or three cars. Regret no pets and no smoking.
