Little An Skyber, Gweek

Little An Skyber is a quality barn conversion situated on the edge of the picturesque wooded valley known as Gweek Drive and set within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and on the doorstep of The Lizard National Nature Reserve (NNR). The woods opposite the drive is a fantastic place to walk during April and May for the amount of wild bluebells which carpet the woodland floor.

The property is half a mile from the centre of the village of Mawgan and one and half miles from the creekside village of Gweek which lies at the head of the beautiful Helford River and is home to the Cornish Seal Sanctuary. Mawgan has a fine dining pub/restaurant, The Ship Inn, a village store specialising in locally sourced fresh produce and a good range of Cornish food and drink and the historic Trelowarren Estate which has a popular bistro restaurant and a Cornwall Craft Association gallery.

Being a popular area for walkers, the South West Coast Path (SWCP), the National Nature Reserve, the Helford River,
including the Frenchman’s Creek, and several National Trust properties are all within easy reach. The numerous
beaches around the Lizard Peninsular and further afield are also within a short driving distance and the market town
of Helston is approx 4 miles away and is home to the delightful Flora Day celebrations every May.

The well, open planned and comfortable accommodation is centrally heated and ideal for breaks throughout the seasons. The dining/kitchen/lounge areas are on the left of the cottage as you enter via the stable door with the spacious bedroom area to your right. The fitted kitchen with quarry tiled floor includes under unit lights, an electric oven and hob, under counter fridge with freezer compartment ( more freezer space available upon request with the owner), while the dining/lounge area has a dining table and chairs, armchairs and freeview TV. The bedroom area includes a 4ft 6' double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside tables with lamps. The separate shower room with an electric shower, toilet, washbasin, mirror with a light and shaver point over, towel rail with radiator under.

Out side you have your own private garden area with garden table and chairs. Off road parking adjacent to the cottage. Bed linen, towels, electricity WIFI (intermittent boost from the main house) and oil-fired central heating are all included in the rental. As the owners live on site, they are happy to help with any queries and can provide provisions on arrival with prior arrangement. The owner is also is happy to provide washing machine and tumble-drying service.

Storage space for bikes, surfboards and kayaks is also available for your use.

Property will undergo a revamp during the winer of 2019, ready for the 2020 season. New photos will follow as soon as it is completed.
