May Trees Cottage is spacious annexe in an excellent location for exploring the nearby towns and villages of West Cornwall such as St Ives. Situated in St Erth Praze, just outside of Hayle, you can take a short scenic train ride on the St Erth branch line, passing some magnificent beaches. Hop off at Carbis Bay for a beach day or go all the way into St Ives for a good range of shops and restaurants and when it’s time to retreat from the busy seaside town, you know there’s a quiet place waiting for your return.
Hayle town centre is just a five minute drive away. Pass under the viaduct and along the side of the Copperhouse Pool harbour where you’ll find pubs, takeaways, convenience stores and supermarkets. Just beyond the town is the St Ives Bay with Porth Kidney and Gwithian beaches where the sands stretch out for miles. If you don’t fancy the train ride into St Ives or the drive into Hayle then there is a pub just 300metres down the road. Also nearby, Leedstown is a four minute drive where there’s a village shop and another pub.
Entered into the living/dining room, there are two bay windows letting lots of light into this comfy space where there’s a two seat sofa and armchair with TV and DVD player and a table with four chairs for dining. A door separates the kitchen which is fully tiled and fitted with units, giving plenty of storage and housing the appliances. Equipped with an electric oven, 4 ring hob with extractor over, fridge freezer, dishwasher, washer dryer, combi microwave, kettle, toaster and a Dolche Gusto coffee pod machine.
The hallway then has the bed room and shower room off and leads to a conservatory. The bedroom is furnished with all matching double bed, large wardrobe, two chests of drawers, bedside tables with lamps and a dressing table which contains a hair dryer. Opposite the bedroom is the fully tiled shower room, which has an electric shower, handbasin, heated towel rail and toilet.
The conservatory has lots of comfy seating and views of the pond and gardens, it opens out onto a gravel area with an outdoor table and chairs. The garden to the side of this area belongs to the owner however, at the end of the gravel section is an archway which leads through the hedge and into a private garden for guests. It’s surrounded by hedges for added privacy, has more outdoor seating and even a large summerhouse to enjoy. It doesn’t end there either, beyond this is a large lawn area so bring your books because this space is sure to draw you in for many hours of relaxing in the sun – and if it’s not shining, there’s always the conservatory!
