Mill Cottage

Mill Cottage has been completely renovated and refurbished to offer guests the best of self-catering in a charming cottage, nestled against the tree line that surrounds the gardens and offers complete privacy. Sleeping up to six in three bedrooms with two bath/shower rooms, central heating, sun room with private patio, FreeSat TV and off-road parking for three cars.

Just 200 metres down the road is one of Cornwall's oldest fishing harbours, Mullion Cove, where a small tidal beach is sheltered by the harbour’s stone walls. The cliffs ascend either side of the harbour and you can follow the coastal path for miles in either direction. If you fancy a full day out, the challenging 6.5 mile walk to Lizard Point is rewarded with amazing views. You can stop for lunch at one of the pubs or cafes and then get a bus or taxi back to Mullion.

When you return to base, the thoughtfully designed, open-plan kitchen diner is a great space to enjoy a hearty meal. Equipped with hob, oven, dishwasher, Smeg fridge freezer and microwave. A separate utility room houses a washer dryer and cloakroom with WC.

The living room is also open-plan, featuring a wood burning stove to cosy up around while enjoying your favourite programmes on the ultra HD TV with FreeSat. For technology lovers, there’s WiFi throughout and a Bluetooth connection for playing your music through the wall mounted speakers in the living area.

When the sun is shining you’ll want to make use of the sun room, open the doors onto the patio where the sea beyond the garden is framed by the overhanging trees, the perfect spot for dining alfresco. If you’re thinking about a meal out then head up the road for a drink at the Mullion Cove Hotel’s Glenbervie bar followed by dinner in the Atlantic View restaurant.

A slightly narrower than normal staircase leads to the first floor where a good night’s sleep awaits, as each bed has a cashmere topped mattress sprung with natural wool fibres. You'll be tempted to snuggle down under the Egyptian cotton linen for a few more minutes each morning before starting another adventure. The master bedroom has a 5’ king-size bed, built-in wardrobes, chest of drawers and garden views. The second bedroom also has a 5’ king-size bed, a built-in wardrobe and garden views. Bedroom three has twin 3’ single beds and a built-in wardrobe. The spacious family bathroom has a bath with shower over, WC and handbasin. There is a separate shower room with shower, WC and handbasin too.

If relaxation is the order of the day then look no further than the gardens. The original 18th century stone steps (take care!) take you down to a private lawn. A second ‘wild’ garden has been developed as a conservation area with wild flowers to encourage butterflies and bees. Beyond the boundary fence is a trickling stream that on occasion may provide a relaxing soundtrack. The wonderful thatched potting shed is a real talking point that exudes old world charm.

One well-behaved dog will be accepted by prior arrangement at £50 per week. An outdoor dog wash area is provided and the utility room has underfloor heating so it’s the perfect room for your canine friend to sleep off the long walks. Please note that dogs are not to be left in the cottage unattended at any time.

Rental includes bedlinen, towels, heating, electricity and FreeSat TV with Freetime. Due to the nature of the garden children are to be supervised at all times
