Trewhella Cottage

Trewhella Cottage is a beautifully restored stone-built cottage on the Lizard Peninsula, ideally positioned between Mullion and Helston. Originally part of the historic Bochym Manor Estate, the cottage is surrounded by gardens and woodland, and has been thoughtfully renovated and modernised to provide comfortable, stylish accommodation while retaining its original character.

Its location makes it a particularly convenient base for exploring this part of Cornwall. Mullion village, with its sandy beaches and access to the South West Coast Path, is just a five-minute drive away. Lizard village and Kynance Cove can be reached in around ten minutes, while Helston, also under ten minutes by car, offers a range of supermarkets, independent shops and restaurants. Even closer to home, just a minute from the cottage, is the popular Jumunjy Thai restaurant and takeaway, perfect for a relaxed evening meal or an easy option after a day by the sea.

Inside, the cottage blends traditional features with modern comforts. The ground floor centres around a welcoming dining area with table and chairs for four and a decorative Rayburn, with doorways leading through to the kitchen and sitting room. A metal staircase rises to the first floor.

The sitting room is comfortably furnished with two sofas and a Smart TV, and double doors open onto the outside seating area. The kitchen is well equipped with an induction hob, electric oven, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer, making self-catering straightforward. A separate utility area houses the washing machine and tumble dryer.

Upstairs, there are two bedrooms. The main bedroom has a king-size bed, and the second bedroom is arranged as a twin with 3’ single beds. Both rooms look out towards the surrounding greenery. The family bathroom includes a freestanding bath, separate shower enclosure, handbasin and toilet.

Outside, guests can enjoy the generous garden areas. Seating includes bistro tables and chairs on the patio, with steps leading down to a lower lawned garden with additional benches and a dining table, ideal for relaxed afternoons or evening meals outdoors. Mature planting and established trees reflect the property’s historic estate origins and provide an attractive setting throughout the year.

Oil central heating ensures comfort in all seasons. WiFi is provided. One well-behaved dog is welcome at £35 per week. Please note that as the garden is not fully enclosed, children and pets should be supervised at all times. The owner's live in the neighbouring property. Driveway parking. An EV charger is also available if required - please select when booking.
