Riffhams Cottage

Riffhams Cottage is found at the edge of Helston's high street, but thanks to it's tucked away position, you wouldn't know the bustling town centre is just around the corner. The town is famous for it's May 'Flora Day' celebrations as shown in some of the images. Within easy walking distance is a good range of pubs, restaurants, takeaways and shops, there's even a fish and chip shop just down the hill. From here it's also a short walk to Coronation Park, which is home to Helston's boating lake and beyond that is the popular wooded walking trails of the Penrose Estate. The energetic can even walk right the way through to Porthleven with stunning coastal scenery and sea views along the way.

Well placed for exploring this popular part of Cornwall, with Porthleven only 2.5 miles away. You can easily visit and make the most of the harbour, beach and eateries but without the premium often attached to staying in Porthleven accommodation. Praa Sands is also a short drive away, this mile long stretch of golden sand is perfect for a day of sunbathing. Helston is also the gateway to the Lizard Peninsula, dotted with fishing villages, a variety of beaches and many visitor attractions all within 20-30 minutes drive. The town is also well served by transport links for car-free days out.

Enter through a hall, into the dining room which has a table with chairs and an ornamental fireplace. In the cosy living room there's a tub sofa and two matching chairs, a TV with DVD player and a selection of DVDs, but the woodburner takes centre stage and its granite lintel is also still on show. The kitchen is well-equipped with a double oven, ceramic 4-ring hob, a fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, kettle and toaster.

The family bathroom was renovated in 2023 and is on the ground floor, accessed by a few steps. It has a bath with shower over, handbasin, toilet and heated towel rail.

The staircase is a little steeper and narrower than normal and at the top is a landing with all bedrooms off, there's also a storage shelf with hooks and bookcase with a few interesting reads.

Bedroom one features a double bed with bedside tables and lamps, a quad fitted wardrobe and a view of the back garden which is often full of flora and greenery. Bedroom two has twin beds with a chest of drawers and bedside lamp, the view looks across to the tree tops at Coronation Park. The third room has a single bed, chest of drawers and a bedside lamp, it also has a similar view to bedroom two.

Outside is a patio garden to the rear which has a table and chairs, some planted borders and pots and is enclosed by a tall side access gate. It is possible to park on the road immediately outside the cottage, however this is not a designated space, alternative on-road parking is often available in the nearby streets. It is also possible to unload on the single yellow line by the back gate if needs be.

Rental includes utilities, bedlinen, towels and WiFi. A well-behaved dog is welcome at £25 per week. Guests are welcome to use the woodburner in the living room, but please note that logs are not supplied, though are available locally.
