Six The Cove

Six The Cove is set on the cliffs above Polurrian Bay, just at the edge of the thriving village of Mullion. A short walk down an unmade lane is the sandy Polurrian beach, known as the locals’ beach due to its tucked away location. The property is contemporary and equipped with everything you need for a wonderful holiday by the sea.

Included in your stay is access to 'The Polurrian On The Lizard' hotel facilities, just over the road, where you can enjoy use of the indoor and outdoor swimming pools, tennis court and gym (please note the swimming pool and leisure facilities are operating on an availability and booking process via the hotel at present). The hotel also has a bar and restaurant with a seasonal menu, takeaway pizza and low-key entertainment – this makes for an easy evening out before retreating to the sanctuary of your own space.

The cliff top location offers some spectacular scenery of the coast and sea and with some sea views from the front and rear gardens too. Beaching, walking or just plain relaxing, it’s all available here, the coast path takes you from the door step, over to Mullion Cove and beyond toward the Lizard, or in the other direction you can walk to Poldhu Cove and then Gunwalloe Church Cove.

Enter from the gravel parking area into the open-plan living, kitchen and dining room. The kitchen is compact but well-equipped with an electric oven, 4-ring hob with extractor over, fridge, freezer, washing machine, microwave, kettle and toaster. The living area has a two seat sofa and a chair with an LCD TV/DVD, decorative fireplace with fan heater and a dining table with four chairs.

The large bedroom has a 4’6” double bed, bedside tables with lamps, chair, two chests of drawers, wardrobe and a large freestanding oil filled heater with timer. The backdoor opens to an enclosed and sheltered decked garden area, with outdoor seating to enjoy the warm Cornish evenings. The en suite bathroom is fully tiled and has a shower enclosure with electric shower, a bath, toilet, handbasin and heated towel rail.

In addition to your private garden, you can also make use of the hotel grounds which include sloping lawns and smaller level areas in which to stroll or to simply sit and soak up the sea views. The position of the gardens and the hotel terrace is a great spot to catch the sun sinking slowly into the sea whilst enjoying drinks and snacks from the bar.

From Mullion you can explore the whole Lizard Peninsula, with Kynance Cove just 10 minutes in the car or the furthest Southerly point at Lizard half a mile further. Kynance Cove and it’s sandy beach are possibly the most photographed in Cornwall and on a hot summers day it can be mistaken for a Mediterranean setting! Scenes for the recent Poldark TV series have been filmed in this stunning area too.
