Bank Cottage

Bank Cottage is a traditional terraced cottage in the heart of Porthallow, with glorious sea views and the South West Coast Path running right past the door. Just a few steps from the beach, and with a private roof terrace, it’s the perfect base for walking, relaxing, and soaking up the best of the Lizard Peninsula.

Just a short walk from The Five Pilchards Inn, a dog-friendly pub with a great menu and regular live music and community events, well worth a visit during your stay. The coast path runs directly past the cottage, offering unforgettable walks in either direction along this dramatic stretch of coastline. Other nearby highlights include Cadgwith Cove, Kennack Sands, Kynance Cove, and Lizard Point, as well as Roskilly’s Farm and the quieter banks of the Helford River, where you’ll find creeks, gardens and other traditional pubs.

The cottage is arranged across three floors, with rooms designed to make the most of the outlook. The open-plan living, dining and kitchen space is on the first floor, offering a wonderful elevated view out over the cove. There’s a Smart TV, DVD player, and an electric heater for cosy evenings, plus comfy seating and a dining table for five. The kitchen includes an electric oven and hob, microwave, integrated fridge, fridge/freezer, and dishwasher. A few steps up from here is the roof terrace, where you can enjoy sunshine for most of the day, watch the fishing boats pass by, or dine al fresco with the sea as your backdrop.

There are three bedrooms set across the other floors. On the ground floor, there’s a twin room and a single room, both located at the front of the cottage where you can fall asleep to the sound of the waves. Also on the ground floor is a shower room with shower, toilet, handbasin, and a washing machine. The main bedroom is tucked away on the top floor, with a 5' king-size bed, hanging rail and small dressing table. There’s also a second bathroom up here with bath, fitted shower over, toilet and handbasin, plus a separate utility area with tumble dryer.

Rental includes: bedlinen, towels, WiFi, and utilities. One small dog is welcome by prior arrangement at £35 per week. Free public parking is available on the beach below, just 20 metres away. Heating is provided by electric panel radiators and storage heaters.

Please note that, like many traditional Cornish cottages, there are some steps and changes in levels, the stairs are steeper than usual and ceilings lower in places. Please see the photos and 3D tour or ask if any clarification is required.
